Woman Hit in the Head With Rock

RED BLUFF, Calif. - A Red Bluff woman was sent to the hospital after being hit in the head with a rock.

It started with a dispute between around 6 pm Sunday in the area of Shasta Avenue and Cascade Avenue in Red Bluff.  The people involved drove off in two vehicles.

A 20-year-old woman was treated at St. Elizabeth Hospital after she was hit in the head with a rock.  Police learned she was driving one of the vehicles involved in the earlier disturbance.

The victim said during the argument someone threw a rock at her vehicle, smashing the windshield.  A second rock thrown at the vehicle went through the open driver's window and hit her in the side of the head.

The victim then drove away from the area while reportedly being chased by a blue pick-up.

The victim's injuries were minor, she was treated and released from the hospital.

Police said details in the case remain vague, and officers are attempting to develop additional information.
