Boys and Girls club need your help for donation drive

EUREKA, Calif. - The Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods has decided to extend their goal of raising $21,000 in 21 days through a donation program. According to the organization, the program raised $14,259, which was just a few thousand dollars shy of their goal.

The organization's spokesperson said it wants to extend the program because organizers believe that putting a time limit on raising money for children in need is not a part of their mission.

"We've got a lot of kids that need more people to be in their village of care. So we would love to see folks continue to come through and continue to help the kids realize they are part of a larger village and there are many people that care about them and love them," said Liz Smith of the Boys and Girls Club.

The Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods said the money raised will go towards helping to accommodate 150 new members at their McKinleyville location.
