Boys and Girls Club 'Teen Court' program receives grant

EUREKA, Calif. - The Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods 'Teen Court' program received a $25,000 grant from Pacific Youth Foundation.

Teen Court is a diversion program for first time juvenile offenders, where they have the opportunity to be tried by a jury of teen peers. It's a real court run entirely by teenagers, who act in the roles of jury, attorneys, judge and clerk.

The program is based on youth empowerment, restorative justice, and second chances.
