EUREKA, Calif. - The Eureka Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods Teen Center picked trash up off the streets Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Members started picking up trash at Carson Park in Eureka and ended their community service at the Boys & Girls Club on J Street.
Melinda Stevens, a teen with the Eureka Boys and Girls Club, said picking up trash was her way of making a difference in the community.
"Martin Luther King wanted us to make a difference in the world, and we got to help out our community by just picking up a little bit of trash," said Stevens.
Members of the Boys & Girls Club said it shows kindness to the community through service to others.
