EUREKA, Calif. - According to the Eureka Police Department, on Monday, September 11, around 3:00 p.m., officers responded to a call from a woman in her 70s who reported she had been robbed at the parking lot of a supermarket on the 600 block of West Harris Street. .
The victim said she was putting her shopping cart away when an unknown woman approached and pulled her purse from around her shoulder which caused her to fall to the ground. The victim said the suspect jumped into the back seat of what appeared to be an older Nissan Pathfinder.
Officers said based on information provided to them, the suspect was identified as Michelle Randall, 25, of Eureka.
On Wednesday, September 13, around noon, Randall was located near the 400 block of P Street in Eureka and was found with items belonging to the victim.
Randall was booked on charges of robbery, elder abuse, and probation violation and is being held on $50,000 bail.
According to Eureka Police Chief Watson, Randall was found in possession of multiple hypodermic needles and a "to do" list.
