FORTUNA, Calif. - Deputies arrested five people after they said they found drugs in multiple motel rooms, and a child.
On March 15 at 8:20 a.m. the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (DTF) with assistance from the Fortuna Police Department served a search warrant on two motel rooms located on the 800 block Main Street in Fortuna.
DTF reported that while serving the warrants, they made contact with Jennifer Fuentes, 47, and her 9-year-old son. Upon further investigation agents said they found seven grams of meth that was packaged for sale and a glass pipe. Law enforcement reported that both the drugs and the pipe were in areas within reach of Fuentes’s child.
Agents then placed Fuentes under arrest. She was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and child endangerment.
The child was released to another family member, according to investigators.
In the second motel room, DTF agents said they located Rebecca Baker, 22, Robert Cullen, 27, and Terrisa Graham, 29.
After searching the room, law enforcement said they found 11 grams of suspected heroin and 1 ounce of suspected meth. Packing materials for sales and several syringes loaded with what is suspected to be heroin were also located in the room.
In addition, DTF agents said they found a loaded .44 Magnum revolver, and a loaded .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol with a high capacity magazine.
During their investigation, DTF agents said they also noticed wanted felon Jason Sherman, 26, exiting a room at the same motel.
DTF said that Sherman was detained while agents confirmed he had a felony warrant for his arrest. The warrant was confirmed, as agents learned that Baker also had a misdemeanor warrant for her arrest.
Based on the evidence located in the second motel room, Cullen was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of a loaded firearm while possessing a controlled substance. Graham was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
All subjects were transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility, where they were booked and housed for the above listed charges.
