EUREKA, Calif. - Humboldt Bay Fire (HBF) invites the public to their annual open house this Saturday, Oct. 14., where activities will be held aiming to educate the public about fire safety.
In the spirit of National Fire Prevention Week, HBF is promoting the message, “Every second counts. Plan two ways out!” to remind the community members that everyone should have a proper escape plan in case of emergency.
At the event, firefighters will discuss lifesaving fire prevention tips, host station tours, demonstrate an auto extrication, offer interactive activities for children including a free raffle and present current and antique apparatus demonstrations.
Community groups will also present information and be available to discuss safety tips with members of the public.
The open house will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Humboldt Bay Fire Station 1, located at 533 C St. in Eureka.
