CHICO, Calif. -

Chico police responded to a report of a man with a gun at a Chico apartment complex Friday morning.

Police received a call from the manager of the Menlo Pointe apartments that a man dressed in camouflage had entered the office of the apartments carrying a gun. Officers evacuated areas of the complex.

Police believed the suspect to be holed up in the apartment's office. After multiple attempts to call the suspect out were made with a loudspeaker, police breached the office door using a battering ram. No one was found inside.

Officers are still looking for the man who is described as being white, in his 20s, with dark hair and clean shaven.

Menlo Way just off the Esplanade was shut down to all traffic and multiple law enforcement officers were on scene.
