The Cascade Theatre presents “The Wizard of Oz” 10 years after the theater's renovation.
The classic from 1939 was the first film shown at the Cascade Theatre.
A local cast will take the stage to perform the songs you know and love, including Jana Pulcini-Leard, who will take the stage as Dorothy for the first time in five years after having a baby.
She’s also the producer of the show.
"As producer, I still oversee everything. I convey to them our overall vision for the show and their job is to help me implement that," said Pulcini-Leard. "But then its been really difficult trying to take off that hat and put on my 'Dorothy' wig. But it's been really, really great."
Kathryn Kirk plays the Wicked Witch, Matthew Goodman plays Lion, Ryan Nemanic will be the Tin Man and Brian Bisetti takes the stage as Scarecrow.
Humans aren’t the only actors.
Toto will be played by a pup named Ebby, who was chosen from a group of around 20 dogs who auditioned.
"She makes all of her marks and is super friendly. She's actually a service dog," said Pulcini-Leard.
The first performance runs Friday night at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m.
These performances will be repeated April 4 through April 6.
Tickets run from $10 to $25 at the Cascade Box Office.
