Chico State Wildcats Advance to Western Regional Championship Game

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Powered by a three-run home run by left-fielder Austin Prott, the Chico State Wildcats advanced to the Western Regional Championship Game in the NCAA Div. 2 Playoffs.

Chico State defeated Grand Canyon 4-1 on Saturday.  The difference was Prott's three-run home run in the bottom of the 3rd inning.

Saturday's game was the Wildcats third-consecutive win since starting regional play in St. George Utah. 

The 6th seeded Wildcats defeated top seed Cal State Monterey on Thursday by a final of 14-3.  Then on Friday Chico State defeated Dixie State 1-0.

The Wildcats will play in the Western Regional Championship Sunday at 11 a.m.  Their opponent will be determined by the outcome of Saturday night's games.
