REDDING, Calif. -

Police are on the lookout for a man who robbed Stumpy's Liquor & Mini Mart on Victor Avenue in Redding Sunday morning.

The incident was all caught on tape around 8:40 a.m. when a man wearing a Halloween-style mask rushed into the store, appeared to point a weapon at the owner while yelling demands. Once he received the cash, he fled on foot.

Store owner Tarsem Singh said he's almost certain he recognized the suspect's voice as a man who has frequented the store on many occasions.

Sing says after handing the suspect cash, he tried to help police by following him but quickly lost him in the area of Churn Creek Road and East Cypress Avenue.

The suspect made off with $180, but Singh says after years of running stores and being robbed in the Sacramento area, he feels fortunate this is the first time Stumpy's has been robbed in the eight years he's owned it.

It's also the first time he's been robbed in the 14 years he's been in Redding.
