Delta Breeze Keeps Our Temperatures Below 100
The weak trough of low pressure off the coast is not expected to go anywhere anytime soon and this will help to keep our temperatures below 100 degrees at least through Saturday. The trick is trying to forecast the high temperatures because the depth of the marine layer plays a big role. The deeper the marine layer the cooler we can usually expected it to be and a shallow marine layer gives us a weaker Delta Breeze giving us warmer temperatures. That being said it’s really difficult to forecast just how deep the marine layer will be. We can usually get a pretty good idea based on the strength and position of the trough of low pressure, but just like the winds, the marine layer can often surprise us driving temperatures higher or lower than expected.
As of right now we’re calling for highs in the low to mid 90’s in Chico and mid to upper 90’s in Redding through Saturday. The triple digits look to return next week with highs hovering right around 100 degrees.
