Another System Tomorrow, Sunny Xmas Eve, Another Storm for Xmas Day
Redding, Red Bluff, Chico
Another system will move through the Northstate with another heavy batch of snow at the upper elevations.
Winter storm warnings remain in effect for elevations above 4500 ft. in the mountains on all sides of the valley. Locations there could see an additional 1-3 feet of snow as this system moves through. This storm is warmer and will allow snow levels to rise throughout the day. Rain and snow will start in the early hours of the morning in Trinity County and rain will begin around 4am in Redding. Snow levels will start out around 2,500 feet before rising to closer to 3,000-3,500 feet late in the day. In addition to all this rain, we’ll see lots of wind as the front moves through. Wind advisories are posted in the valley with the potential for gusts of up to 50mph mainly focused East of Red Bluff and Redding.
Monday we get a break from rain, wind and snow and will largely break out of the clouds. But it won’t last very long. Another system moves in for Christmas day. This storm won’t be very powerful, but will make for a white Christmas in several areas although snow levels look relatively high for that storm. We’ll keep you posted.
