Beautiful Day Today, Cooler Temps and Rain Move in Tomorrow Afternoon
Redding, Red Bluff, Chico
One last beautiful day to end our streak, cooler temps and rain move in tomorrow.
Redding will have gone 12 days without rain by tomorrow. The last time the NorthState received measurable rain was on January 9th, and even then Redding only got .07 inches of rain. To add to that, afternoon highs have been running about 10 degrees above average for the past week with morning lows almost 10 degrees below average. This rain storm will stabilize the temperatures, but will kick the gorgeous weather out of there for a while.
Wednesday’s rain will move through late in the day. The morning hours will be cloudy and cool, but won’t see any rain, that comes in the afternoon. Rain will start around 3pm with the heaviest rain moving in just in time for the commute home. This is a short duration system, so rain will end around midnight in the valley, with showers hanging on into the pre-dawn hours in the highest elevations. Early morning will likely see a gorgeous sunrise as the clouds depart to the east and clear skies move in from the west.
Thursday and Friday will be mostly sunny, but won’t be nearly as warm as we’ve seen over the past week. Highs will still be above average, but we’ll be closer to 5-7 degrees above average instead of the 10-15 above average we saw all last week.
