Big changes are coming mid week, much cooler temperatures and rain on the way.

Sunday will be another beautiful sunny day in Northern California.  Temperatures will peak in the mid to upper 60s again.  The winds will start off calm tonight but will eventually increase towards morning. Tomorrow those gusty winds could make driving high profile vehicles tricky in the valley.  Temperatures will fall drastically on Monday as a system moves in off the ocean.  The high level clouds will keep the sun from penetrating all the way to the ground and the day will remain correspondingly cooler.

Things get downright chilly on Tuesday as the system makes its way overhead, producing rain showers from early morning through the evening and into the overnight hours.  We’re expecting about half an inch of rain in the valley from this system.  The very cold characteristics will keep the snow levels very low as well.  By Tuesday evening the snow levels will fall to near 1500 feet.  The clouds will break on Wednesday, but the very cold unstable air aloft will allow for the possibility of afternoon thunderstorms.  Any storms that do develop could have gusty winds with them along with small hail and isolated torrential rains.  Another weaker system will move through Thursday night into Friday.
