Chilly, Cloudy and Showery, Drier Tomorrow

Chilly, cloudy and showery day to celebrate 12/12/12, we clear out tomorrow.

The cold system from the Gulf of Alaska is still moving into Northern California this morning.  We're still seeing rain and snow showers around but they are dieing out and will gradually dry up.  The mountains east of the valley will stay in the clouds and showers the longest.  The front is still dragging its feet through the region, but after the frontal clouds clear out, we’ll see clearer skies for Thursday.  With the very cold air overhead, we won’t ever quite warm up.  Temps will stay in the upper 40’s to low 50’s through at least next Tuesday. 

Friday is a transition day as another front tries to move through the NorthState.  That front isn’t very strong and will get ripped apart by the mountains to our west.  We’ll still see clouds from that front, but we will remain dry.  Another system moves through for Saturday night into Sunday morning with snow levels falling to 3,000 feet and will drop through the night.
