Christmas Eve Looks Great, Santa Will Battle Rain and Wind on Christmas

Slight break from the rain tomorrow, more rain and snow for Christmas.

We’ll see mostly sunny skies tomorrow as Sunday’s storm moves out.  The break will be brief as we’ll start to see the whispy harbingers of clouds from the west moving in.  These clouds will thicken throughout the day and will eventually bring with them another storm system from the Pacific.  This system will bring more rain to the valley, but won’t bring the wind with it.  The mountains will see a reinforcing shot of snow but won’t see the crazy totals we’ve gotten for the past few days.  Still up to 10 inches in areas won’t be out of the question, with potentially over a foot at the highest elevations and favored areas.  

Wednesday we’ll see the Christmas storm winding down with residual rain and snow showers ending mostly in the morning.  The sun will come out, but it won’t do much to warm things up.  Temps will stay in the upper 40’s Thursday and Friday.  On Friday, a coastal storm will wrap itself up and slide just to our West, staying just offshore.  That won’t give us any real rain, but will throw just enough moisture to keep the threat around, we’ll remain in the clouds on Friday.
