Starting off cold for most of the NorthState, we’ll rebound into the low 50s for many in the valley.
The winds kept the temps up in Redding, so they never fell below freezing through the entire night. Where there was less wind the temperature dropped like a rock. Chico bottomed out at 23, Alturas -21 and Mt. Shasta City at 9. Last night was the coldest night as high pressure will move overhead over the next few days, keeping the winds up all night, and slowly moderating temperatures. The start of the week will be punctuated by northerly winds keeping the air warmer but by the middle of the week the valley will start to peak in the low 60s with clear skies.
