Partly Cloudy and Mild Today, Chance of Sprinkles and Showers in the Mountains
Redding, Red Bluff, Chico
Isolated showers in the higher elevations on both sides of the valley. Partly Cloudy and cool for the valley.
The upper level low is moving closer and closer to the coastline and will continue to throw more clouds and moisture towards us. This won’t create much by way of rain, but it will allow for a little more cloud cover than we’ve gotten used to seeing. A few spots in the mountains could see some light sprinkles out there, but those will be short lived and shouldn’t last for very long.
Later in the week we will see the low move to our southeast and hang right along the coast, allowing this weather to persist for a few more days. From there an upper level trough will move through and scoop up this storm, shoving it out to the east. That system looks like the most promising to get any sort of rain in the valley but it’s forecast to move through this weekend into early next week. We’ll keep an eye on things and keep you posted.
