Rain and Snow Showers Ending Today, Sun Comes Out Tomorrow

Residual rain and snow showers linger, sunny skies for tomorrow.

The last little bits of rain are moving through this morning and will be mostly gone by the afternoon hours.  A few spots of rain could fall here and there, but there won’t be any major soaking rains today.  In the mountains the snow showers will linger through the evening and a few spots could see light snow and flurries hang around through tomorrow morning.  Tomorrow the clouds break up as clear and cold air moves in from the northwest.  The sunny skies will make it feel warmer, but temperatures will struggle to make it out of the 40’s in the Sacramento Valley. 

On Friday, another storm system will just miss the region to the West.  There won’t be much moisture with this system, but it will have enough to cause some sprinkles in the valley and flurries and light snow in the mountains.  It shouldn’t accumulate to much, maybe an inch in spots if you’re lucky.  But Saturday, there is a chance for some flurries and snow mixed with rain in the valley.  The City of Shasta Lake and West Redding will have the best chance of seeing any flakes in the valley.  If we do see snow, it won’t last long and it won’t accumulate much – more along the lines of “Charlie Brown snow,” the stuff that falls for hours on end, but never accumulates to anything.
