Scattered Mountain Showers With Sunnier Weather and Warmer Temps Coming
Redding, Red Bluff, Chico
Tomorrow will be another pretty day in Northern California.
A batch of energy is passing over Oroville at the time of publish. It's associated with the bottom of an upper level trough moving through the region tonight. The highest levels of lift are centered right over Butte County. The good news is these storms will move out tonight and shouldn't cause many headaches. Be aware for some locally heavy rains and pockets of ponding on roadways. Rain will end late tonight as the system moves out and we will start out Sunday morning with predominantly clear skies. A few clouds and showers will linger in the mountains.
A partly cloudy night with bright moonshine overhead will allow for temperatures to fall quickly tonight. Tomorrow temperatures will rise into the mid 50s across the NorthState. The next following days will see temperatures rising into the mid to upper 50s with mostly clear skies overhead. We will also see another day of patchy fog in the morning. The cool temps, calm winds and relatively high dew points will allow for pockets of dense fog to form overnight. But tomorrow we’ll see a more complete clearing than we saw on Saturday. there will still be a few areas with some pockets of showers, but most of them will be in the mountains, and will be very widely scattered and light.
After that moves out, we’re expecting another strong high pressure system to move in. This will allow temperatures to rise and skies to clear. High pressure will really take hold late on Monday and we’ll see the biggest benefits start to move in for Tuesday. From Tuesday on the most we’ll see are a few high clouds overhead and temperatures in the low to mid 60s.
