Sunny and Breezy Today, Pushing 70 Tomorrow
Redding, Red Bluff, Chico
A beautiful start to a beautiful December day, windy and sunny in the valley.
Sunshine will persist almost completely unbroken throughout today. The biggest story will be the winds, we’ll see winds gusting up to 30mph today as a low moves to our east and a high pressure system moves to our west. These together will act as gears to pump wind right down the valley, leading to our gusty winds. The good news is that those winds mostly die off by tonight, and will be completely gone by the time Monday rolls around.
Monday and Tuesday look beautiful, warm and sunny again, but things change on Wednesday. A deep ocean storm from the Gulf of Alaska will move in to cool things off quite a bit. We won’t see much by way of rain from this system, but we will see the temperatures drop like a rock. Highs will only peak in the low 50, and several areas will struggle to make it out of the 40’s.
