Today should be the last 80 degree day of 2012.  Highs will warm to around 15 degrees above normal with sunny skies.  Our next cold system rolls in late Wednesday night.

The ridge of high pressure that brought Redding the record setting 87 degree high yesterday will slowly start to get squashed to the southeast today through tomorrow.  With that said we're still going to experience low 80s today and mid 70s tomorrow, both well above normal for this time of the year.

By Thursday and Friday a very cold and unstable air-mass moves over head.  This will allow for rain and thunderstorms for the valley.  Most of this will be scattered rather than a solid precipitation shield we sometimes get from wet storms coming in.

Snow levels will continue to drop throughout the day Thursday.  Again we're not looking for a long duration precipitation event just scattered snow showers and maybe even some thunder-snow, graupel(hail/snow mix)  too.

Things slowly start to wrap up Saturday with slightly warmer temperatures into Sunday.
