Weather Forecast: Clouds Clear By Late Tuesday Morning
Redding, Chico & Red Bluff
A weak system will clip the Northstate to the north and northwest tonight and tomorrow morning. Best chances of rain remain in the higher elevations.
This low pressure system will bring light to moderate rain to the higher elevations of Trinity, Siskiyou and Shasta county. There is even the small chance for a few light showers/sprinkles to scrape the northern half of the valley floor.
As this system exits to the east look for a strong northwest jet to drop across the area. Like most systems we see in the Fall of this type and trajectory, we can expect breezy to windy north/northwest winds.
Add these winds to low humidity values and we could also be talking Fire Weather.
Tuesday-Thursday look for a moderately strong ridge of high pressure to build, warming the valley to close to 90 degrees.
Beyond this week we are watching the possibility of a fairly cold low pressure system to swing in by this weekend. It would remain dry but bring temperatures likely into the 60s-50s for highs in the valley. However our most reliable forecast model isn't buying in just yet or at all so I will continue to hedge with highs near 70 for now.
