Weather Forecast: Cool And Unsettled This Weekend
Redding, Chico, Red Bluff
Patchy fog is expected across the Northstate through Saturday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for Lassen and Plumas Counties until 10:00 Saturday morning. Otherwise, look for partly to mostly cloudy skies on Saturday with a slight chance for a passing sprinkle or light shower. Snow levels will still be fairly high but could drop to as low as 4000 feet in some areas. It will also be a fairly mild night in the valley with lows in the low to mid 40’s.
As a trough of low pressure approaches from the Gulf of Alaska we’ll see a continued chance for isolated showers throughout the weekend. However, this trough of low pressure will have limited moisture to work with so the main impact will be partly to mostly cloudy skies and a chance for a passing sprinkle or light shower. At this point, I wouldn’t cancel any outdoor plans this weekend but just be sure to bring something warm to wear. Snow levels on Saturday are expected to be around 4000 feet dropping to as low as 2000 feet by Sunday. The same applies for the mountains as any snow we do see will be on the light side.
We are expecting a warming trend next week with highs climbing back to the low 60’s by Tuesday.
