The ridge of high pressure that has been giving us unseasonably warm weather for this time of year is showing signs of getting weaker as a series of storms start to push through it.  The ridge, however, will still be strong enough to keep most of the rain with Tuesday’s weak storm to our north with Trinity and Siskiyou Counties quite possibly seeing a few light showers.  The rest of us will see more clouds and cooler temperatures with most of the valley struggling to get out of the 50’s on Tuesday.

We’ll be between storms on Wednesday and will be a dry day for everyone without much change in our temperatures struggling to get out of the 50’s once again in the valley under partly cloudy skies.

By Wednesday night into Thursday the next storm will arrive and although all of us will see a chance for showers the main story will be cooler temperatures and fairly low snow levels dropping to as low as 2000 feet by the second half of the day on Thursday.  That being said, we’re not expecting much rain or snow for that matter but could create a few problems on some of the higher elevation mountain passes.

Behind Thursday’s storm will be cold and unstable air on Friday which could mean a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms.  A lot can happen between now and then so we’ll keep you updated through the week.
