After an afternoon and evening of thunderstorms in parts of the valley on Wednesday the skies quickly cleared out before midnight.  We also saw strong south winds throughout the day with gusts between 20 and 33 mph.  After all was said and done, the valley picked up anywhere between a few hundredths of an inch of rain to three quarters of an inch.  However, Happy Valley reported 1 inch and we had a report of 1.63 inches in Palo Cedro.

It will dry out behind the storm and the winds are also expected to pick up from the north making for breezy conditions on Thursday and Friday with gusts between 20 and 30 mph.  The winds are expected to die down by the weekend and our next chance for rain is expected to arrive Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.
