From a fairly wet and cold weather pattern most of the month to a dry and cool pattern the end out the month and ring in the New Year.  A weak ridge of high pressure has taken control allowing us to dry out but it’s still on the cool side with temperatures struggling to get into the 50’s on Monday

The leading edge of a disturbance brought the clouds in Monday afternoon keeping our temperatures down.  The same disturbance will move through on Tuesday but since it is moisture starved it won’t bring any rain or even much cloud cover along with it.  The winds will pick up a little out of the north but just enough to keep the chill in the air.

Another storm will approach on Thursday and Friday but will fizzle out before it arrives keeping us dry and cool through the work week.

The forecast models are having a difficult time agreeing on this weekend’s forecast.  One of them (GFS) keeps the low off the coast of Central and Southern California giving us dry weather.  However, another forecast model (European) brings in the rain on Saturday.  For now I’m keeping this weekend dry but stay tuned as we continue to monitor the forecast models very closely.
