The NWS has issued a flood warning for urban and small streams until Friday afternoon. Wind Advisories have also been issued until Sunday afternoon.
The moderate to heavy rain started late afternoon on Thursday and lasted into the overnight hours. As of midnight Friday morning there have not been any reports of flooding, however, with the steady moderate to heavy rain showers for parts of the valley and even the mountains we could see some localized flooding before sunrise. The heavier rain should start to taper off sometime in the morning on Friday.
We’re expecting isolated showers through most of the day on Friday giving many of us a much needed break from the steady rain. The winds will be a little weaker but still blowing from the south at 15 to 25 mph with gusts between 30 and 35 mph.
We expect more of the same on Saturday with showers increasing throughout the day. The third and final storm in this series will be arriving Saturday night into early Sunday morning. This is expected to be the strongest storm with the heaviest amount of rain and wind gusts possibly in the 60 mph range in the valley. We should be prepared for more flooding and power outages as this last storm moves through.
By Sunday afternoon and Monday the rain and wind should be out of here with yet more rain in the forecast Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. The storms next week won’t be nearly as impressive.
