Weather Forecast: Halloween Looking Wet
Redding, Chico, Red Bluff
We are getting a little more confidence on just when the rain will arrive on Wednesday as the forecast models are starting to come into line a little better. The rain is expected to move from the northwest to the southeast meaning Redding will see rain sooner than Chico. Although it’s impossible to pinpoint the exact minute as to when the first raindrops will fall it’s starting to look more and more that the trick or treaters will be dealing with some kind of wet weather. The rain will arrive sometime around 3:00 in Redding and closer to 4:00 or 5:00 in Chico.
This storm is not nearly as impressive as the one last week. Number one, it’s moving a lot faster meaning we won’t see as much rain. Number two, it’s not as cold and snow levels will most likely be above 6000 feet. The heaviest rain looks to fall Wednesday evening into the overnight hours and the valley could pick up a half of an inch or more depending on where you are. As the cold front moves through the winds are also expected to pick up from the south at 10-20 mph with gusts up to 25 or 30 mph.
The chances for showers will diminish throughout the day on Thursday with decreasing clouds and a few isolated showers here and there.
Temperatures will increase as we approach the weekend and we should be in the upper 70’s and lower 80’s by Saturday and Sunday and lasting into the beginning of next week.
