One more day of mild weather for the Northstate. After highs near 70 today, wet and cooler weather moves in Friday.
First wave of rain begins to move in around midnight tonight. Through the morning hours and into the afternoon hours expect light to moderate rain.
Snow levels will stay fairly high with this first wave of precipitation. Averaged out, snow levels will be around 6000ft. Some folks below that could see some snow but the bulk of the accumulations will stay higher.
The next heavier line moves in Saturday. Along with this heavier rain there will be gusty south winds. As that cold front swings through Saturday, snow levels will slowly drop. But even with colder air in place snow levels will only drop to around 5000ft. So, much warmer than our last system that dropped snow levels to around 2000ft.
The pattern remains wet all the way into next Wednesday. Still working out the details on the Thanksgiving forecast as model data continues to change with each new forecast run.
