Weather Forecast: Mostly Sunny And Warmer Holiday Weekend

By Mike KruegerThe storm has finally passed and we’ve got warmer and drier weather ahead of us for at least a week. One thing we are watching closely is the potential for fog development Wednesday night into Thursday morning. With the heavy rain we’ve seen the last few days the ground is very saturated and all we need now are clear skies and calm winds. Clear skies are pretty much a safe bet for most of us but even with a light wind (even as low as a few miles per hour) that is enough to mix any fog development out. At this point we’ve got north winds tonight between 5 and 10 mph but for the wind sheltered areas like Chico we could be looking at some morning fog. There will also be a good chance for fog and freezing fog in many of the mountain valleys.
Minus the chance for morning fog it will be an absolutely beautiful day on Thanksgiving and Friday with highs between 65 and 70 degrees under mostly sunny skies. A storm will move through the Pacific Northwest on Saturday giving them the rain and all we’ll see out of it are a few more clouds.
Most of next week is looking dry for now with a chance for more rain by the end of next week. This is still a long way out there but something worth watching.
