The storm has arrived and is expected to stick around at least through the day on Wednesday. This is not a very strong storm but the valley will pick up between a quarter to a half of an inch with Redding likely to see the higher amounts. The foothills and mountains are expected to pick up between a half of an inch to three quarters of an inch of rain. Snow levels may drop to as low as 5000 feet but any significant accumulations will be above 6000 feet. We’re also expecting strong south winds on Wednesday with gusts possibly over 30 mph.
It will dry out behind the storm and the winds are also expected to pick up from the north making for breezy conditions on Thursday and Friday with gusts between 20 and 30 mph. The winds are expected to die down by the weekend and our next chance for rain won’t arrive until the end of the month. So for now we can say we will go out of March like a lion.
