Weather Forecast: Sunny, Breezy North Winds Next Few Days
Redding, Chico & Red Bluff
Patchy fog will develop in low lying areas shielded by the dry north winds the next couple of nights. Highs will warm into the 60s for the valley into next week.
A north/south jet axis will set up over the Northstate Friday through Sunday. At the same time it will tighten the surface pressure gradient allowing for winds out of the north to pick up to 20 mph and by Sunday, gusts close to 30 mph.
These winds should keep parts of the valley in the upper 40s and lower 50s in the overnight hours.
Winds will begin to relax as a ridge of high pressure builds in Monday and Tuesday of next week. By then most of the valley should warm to the mid 60s for highs.
By Wednesday a weak low pressure system will swing by the Northstate. At this time it looks like mountains are the only ones with a chance of precipitation.
