The Northstate's first storm of the weekend will begin to move in by the early afternoon hours today.  The second, and stronger storm, arrives tomorrow.

A weakening but quickly approaching low pressure system will slide north into the Northstate this morning and afternoon.  Ahead of the low we will see scattered showers being pushed ahead of the center of the low.  The main core of the low will arrive late tonight, along with much heavier rain.

Look for a gap in the precipitation between system 1 and system two.  I expect there to be a lot of folks waking up to dry conditions tomorrow morning, with isolated showers around.  As we head into the afternoon hours the strong south winds will begin to pick up.  These winds will be ahead of the main cold front, storm #2.

Once the cold front moves in the heavy rain will too.  It appears that the winds and the rain will begin to relax by the mid morning hours Sunday, as the main cold front lifts into the High Sierra.

For most of the day Sunday rain will remain in the higher elevations but there will still be the chance of scattered showers.
