Weather Forecast: Valley Highs in the Low to Mid 60s Today & Tomorrow
Redding, Chico & Red Bluff
Partly to mostly sunny skies today for the valley floor with highs in the low 60s. Partly to mostly cloudy skies for the mountains.
A short term ridge of high pressure will nudge into the Northstate today and tomorrow.
Since we are on the very northern tip of this dome of high pressure, clouds can and will spill over into the Northstate. However, most of the clouds will stay confined to the higher elevations.
After highs in the mid 60s tomorrow, a fairly dry arctic cold front will swing in by Wednesday morning. Most of the precipitation will stay in the mountains but you can expect some rain showers to make it down to the valley floor through Wednesday afternoon.
Snow levels once again will be fairly low. As usual though, the coldest air will arrive once the bulk of the moisture has exited the Northstate so roads and passes shouldn't be a huge problem.
AfterWednesday expect cold mornings and highs near 50 degrees through the extended forecast period.
