Weather Forecast: WINTER STORM WATCH Issued For Parts of Valley
Redding, Chico & Red Bluff
The NWS has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Shasta and Tehama County, including Red Bluff and Redding for tomorrow night through Thursday night.
Today and most of Wednesday the valley floor will actually have pretty nice conditions with cool air in place. You can expect mostly sunny skies today for the valley floor with highs in the upper 40s, low 50s.
Tomorrow slightly cooler with increasing clouds throughout the day.
For mountain locations north and west of the valley floor snow will start to fall by the early evening hours Wednesday and increase in intensity and coverage the later we go into the night time hours.
By the late night hours Wednesday we should begin to see precipitation work its way down to the valley floor.
At this time it does appear Redding, Anderson, Cottonwood and possibly Red Bluff could see some accumulating snow. Best chances remain in Redding.
For mountains locations above 2000 ft, especially Northern Shasta county and Southern Siskiyou county, you need to take the next 24-36 hours to prepare for heavy snow accumulations above 12" and likely several feet.
