Weather Forecast: Warmer Today But With More Clouds
Redding, Chico & Red Bluff
Afternoon highs will warm to the mid 70s today. However, look for more clouds around than what we saw for your Thursday afternoon.
We continue to sit right at the northern tip of the ridge of high pressure today. As little impulses round that ridge off to the northwest, it continues to toss more clouds and even light precipitation close to the Northstate.
Best chances for any light precipitation will be in isolated spots in Western Siskiyou county and parts of Trinity county. Even Hayfork could pick up on a quick shower.
Most of the down-sloping off the Coastal range and Southern Cascades will keep the valley dry under partly sunny skies.
This weekend we should see mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 70 and even few isolated 80 degrees.
Our next storm arrives by Late Tuesday and into Wednesday. You may have noticed over the last few days that the storm has continued to get pushed back with each new forecast. What was once a Monday storm now appears to be a Wednesday storm. You can thank the Super Storm on the East Coast for that. The jet stream will get held up because of this super storm slowing down our trough in the jet stream here until Wednesday.
