High winds, heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms for the Northstate today. The main cold front will slowly slide our way as we head into the afternoon hours.
Winds in the valley are already gusting up to 41 mph and as the cold front approaches we will likely see higher. Ahead of the cold front we continue to see showers develop.
As the main cold front pushes east expect to see high winds, very heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms.
At this time we expect the cold front to swing through around lunchtime and later, the further south and southeast you are in the Northstate.
Snow levels will remain high with this storm. For most mountain areas snow levels will stay at or above 6000ft.
Snow levels will likely drop slightly, later tonight behind the cold front but most of the moisture will have already exited.
The good news is that by Wednesday and Thursday things quickly begin to clear out and warm-up. For your Thanksgiving expect plenty of sunshine with highs slightly above normal.
