Gusty winds this afternoon with temperatures still way above normal.

No chance for rain this weekend but believe it or not, there is coming on Tuesday.  The weekend though, will be dry, sunny and warm with a shot for breaking a few temperature records in Red Bluff and, less likely but still possible, in Redding.  Temperatures will peak in the upper 60s to low 70s once again and we’ll deal with some gusty northerly winds.  Those winds will not help the fire fighting effort in Tehama county.

Tuesday and Wednesday a weak system will move through the area.  it will bring some rain to the valley, but most of it will remain in the mountains.  If you’re hoping for a long term pattern shift then this isn’t it.  Models bring some moisture with a few weak disturbances for Tuesday through Thursday but it won’t amount to much more than 1 inch of rain (if we’re lucky) in the valley.  After that, the ridge rebuilds and we’re back to the dry sunshine we’ve seen for the past year.
