Another cool morning dominated by clouds.

Temperatures will remain cool today as clouds block out the warming rays of the sun.  When the sun does peak through, it could cause a few showers and weak thunderstorms to form this afternoon.  They’ll be few and far between, but it will add an interesting element to a cool spring day.

After today mother nature turns on the heat.  High pressure will build in from the west creating a huge ridge which will tap into some subtropical heat and allow temperatures to rise quickly.  Highs on Monday will be about 10° warmer than today, Tuesday 10° warmer than that and finally on Wednesday we’ll peak around 90°.  That will make it the first time since last October that Redding and Red Bluff see highs in the 90s.  This setup will stick around through the end of the week with a slight weakening towards the weekend.  Highs will start to fall back to nearer normal, but expect them to be 5-10° above normal through next Sunday.
