Our ridge is moving eastward allowing cooler weather to move in.

Temperatures will return nearer to normal today and through the rest of the week as the week’s ridge departs to the east.  That will allow temperatures to fall and will actually allow for a very weak trough to brush the northern fringe of the viewing area.  that trough will continue to move to the east bringing a chance for a spot shower in the mountains mostly at the highest elevations.  Valley locations should stay mostly sunny with only sprinkles in the mountains.  From there the trough will move northeast and generally will leave CA alone.  We’ll be watching a slight threat for thunderstorms as the trough axis moves through.  Afterwards the California ridge returns and temperatures go back up.
