We are starting the day with weaker winds but that won't last for long as the winds will pick up once again giving us high fire danger going into the weekend.
With the combination of gusty north winds and low relative humidity fire danger will be elevated and any new fire starts will spread rapidly. This will also not help in the current fire fighting efforts.
The winds are expected to die down by the end of the weekend into next week.
It will be another mild day in the Northstate with highs only reaching the mid 70's but it is expected to warm up into the low to mid 80's this weekend and last through Monday.
We are tracking a cooling trend through most of next week that could lead to a chance for rain by next Thursday. At this point there are still no guarantees but there has been some good consistency in the long range forecast models.
