As 2013 comes to an end it will go down as the driest year in 119 years of record keeping for California precipitation. The rest of 2013 will continue warm and dry, with no rain through New Year’s Day.

As we head into 2014, it looks like, at least for the first 5-7 days, there is still no rainfall in sight. Models beyond that are hinting at a pattern change, but that keeps getting pushed back and further review does not look optimistic. So, for now, more above normal temperatures and dry conditions into the foreseeable future.
