REDDING, Calif. -

As the incredibly dry year comes to an end, the same daily weather forecast, does not. We do have some activity in the Pacific, however, two systems will move up against persistent high pressure and lose the little energy they have and fall apart, basically bringing us some high clouds and slightly cooler temperatures on Friday. Then, things clear out on Saturday and warm up all over again.

As far as the long range forecast, high pressure is expected to continue to dominate our weather pattern into the New Year and beyond. Models are starting to hint at a possible change perhaps a week out into January, but that is far too distant to be accurate and right now I am not optimistic for any serious rainy pattern to settle in on our horizon. Meanwhile, enjoy the clear cool nights and mostly sunny days ahead.
