Sunny skies remain today with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s this weekend.

High pressure will keep the skies clear as any high level clouds depart this afternoon.  The clouds will keep temperatures slightly cooler today but they’ll still reach into the mid 70s in the valley.  Temperatures will slightly increase this weekend as the clouds clear and winds calm.  Expect highs in the mid to upper 70s Saturday and Sunday.

A weakening system will (once again) miss northern California to our north, but will be strong enough to bless the NorthState with a little rain.  It won’t be much, and the valley will likely only get a tenth or two but any little bit helps our drought.  The mountains will get more, and some areas could see up to half an inch.  Most of the rain will fall in northern Shasta and Siskiyou Counties and in the Sierra and Lassen National Park.  It is still a little ways out, so things could change.  We’ll keep you posted on any changes.
