A low pressure system drops south and brings the threat of thunderstorms to the Northstate.

We start the day with increasing clouds, and scattered thunderstorms move through mainly during the afternoon hours of Monday. While there isn’t a lot of moisture associated with this system, there may be some isolated downpours and small hail with the storms. The main bulk of the moisture moves out Monday evening, but a few wraparound showers on the back side of this system are possible Tuesday. Expect temperatures generally in the low to mid 70s in the valley Monday, 60s in the mountains.

Partly cloudy skies are in store for Tuesday with a few isolated showers. Highs are expected to be around 80.

Things really warm up for the second half of the work week, and sunshine returns. Afternoon highs will be in the lower 90s in the valley for the rest of the week, 80s in the mountains.
