After an active day Tuesday, the Northstate will begin to quiet down today. A cold front swinging through could spark some isolated mountain showers.
We'll also see the winds pickup ahead of the front, with gusty conditions in the mountains.
Monsoon moisture will be squashed to the south from this cold front, allowing for drier air to take over the next 4-5 days.
Some models are forecasting some more monsoon moisture by Monday but looks like it will be mainly confined to the Sierra, south of Lassen Park.
High pressure over the Desert Southwest will slowly build in our direction causing the temperatures to climb back up to the triple digits for many of us in the valley by Thursday or Friday and will last into at least the beginning of next week.
