A very strong surge of monsoon moisture will continue to move in today through Wednesday.  With a near record breaking amount of moisture in place, showers and thunderstorms could produce heavy downpours.

However, thunderstorms will also produce abundant cloud to ground lightning and gusty outflow.  This is why the National Weather Service has issued RED FLAG WARNINGS for mountains and foothills surrounding the valley.

Clouds associated with monsoon moisture will keep all of the Northstate much cooler today and tomorrow.  For many valley locations it will be a struggle to make it out of the 80s today and tomorrow.

Best chances for thunderstorms will be tomorrow morning through the evening but the threat will be around today and Wednesday.
