A Weakening cold front is moving through the Northstate sparking some showers and even thunderstorms in the mountains to the north and northwest.
The trough responsible for kicking our cut-off low to the northeast yesterday is now moving ashore today. Ahead of the trough is a cold front that brought a sharp line of showers ans thunderstorms through Western Siskiyou County early this morning. Some of this rain even fell on area fires, including the Beaver Fire.
The cold front will continue to move east through the Northstate this afternoon, even though it may not be as visible on the radar as this morning. However, with some daytime heating and some up-slope winds will likely see some enhancement in Trinity, Shasta and Siskiyou County mountains.
The trough lifts to the northeast tomorrow and high pressure will slowly build in through this weekend.
